Durham Office Services is open to serve you during Covid-19

UPDATE: With all Covid restrictions now lifted, we are pleased to confirm that Durham Office Services is operating completely as usual.

Durham Business Group – of which Durham Office Services is part – has been supporting businesses for almost four decades, but the period since March 2020 will be up there as one of our most challenging times, with Covid-19 impacting us all.

With lockdowns hopefully a thing of the past, but the pandemic far from over, we want to reassure you that we are still here providing our quality and professional virtual office services at Portland House. Staff are working from 9 am to 5 pm as usual, Monday to Friday, at a time when our clients are needing our support more than ever.

Here is a summary of how we have adapted our operations during the pandemic in order to maintain the services that our customers depend on.

Meeting rooms

Our meeting rooms remain open for business as usual here at Portland House.

They also offer a safe, welcoming and, if necessary, socially distanced space for those people – such as the self-employed and freelancers – who may wish to conduct face-to-face business in a Covid-secure work environment.

They can also be booked by anyone who just requires a quiet place to work on a short-term basis.

Hand sanitising stations are available throughout Portland House, and we are conducting regular cleaning and disinfecting of the meeting rooms and other shared spaces.

Managed office spaces

A few of our managed office tenants are currently still working from home, but many have now returned.

We do presently have a small number of desks available to rent on monthly contracts – please contact us if you are looking for a safe workspace at the current time.

Call answering

We are continuing to offer a normal telephone answering service, managing phone calls from Portland House reception as usual.

During the first lockdown, when Portland House was closed for a time, our team were able to answer calls from home, in order to ensure continuity of service. This remains a contingency if the need arises in the future.

Mail management

We continue to receive and process clients’ post at Portland House as normal, for customers on our registered office, Mail Lite and Unlimited Mail packages.

Where customers would usually collect their mail in person, we have been offering to scan and email it to them instead. While many clients continue to work from home, we also still offer the option of mail being forwarded on, at cost.

Registered office addresses

One of the few silver linings of Covid-19 has been the creativity and resilience that it has unleashed among individuals and businesses, and the resulting growth in new start-ups by those who have been forced or inspired to seek new opportunities.

As a result, our registered office address and mailing packages – enabling clients to convey a professional image, with a prestigious DH1 address, while moving their business away from home – have proved especially popular. Indeed, in the first six months of the pandemic, we welcomed 60 such new clients.
